Welcome!

I’m Stephanie East, the founder of Sound Mind Psych.

Stephanie East, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

I created Sound Mind Psych — my practice based in Lynchburg, Virginia — to offer safe, compassionate, and accessible mental healthcare. Whether I’m helping with medication management or diagnosing a condition, my approach with every client is holistic and all are welcome.

I serve patients throughout Virginia — in person, via video platform (doxy.me), or by phone. I also employ two assistants to manage administrative tasks such as scheduling, billing, and refills.

My Approach

Collaborative

Psychiatric treatment works best when you also engage in counseling or talk therapy sessions. I collaborate with your therapist and share notes to ensure that our efforts continually support and complement each other.

Holistic

While most psychiatric practitioners tend to stay focused only on medication, I view medication as just one part of what can help make and keep you healthy. I make sure I have a good understanding of all the parts of your “Life Chair” — and that you understand them, too.

What Clients Are Saying

How Much Will It Cost?

An initial consultation lasts 60-90 minutes and costs $385. Follow-up visits last 20-30 minutes and cost $185. ADHD and Autism testing can take 2-5 hours, so please reach out about cost, which is dependent on age and tests required.

How Can I Pay for It?

Sound Mind Psych is not in-network with any insurance. I will provide you with a “super bill,” which is a medical term for a receipt of services, and you can submit that to your insurance company for potential “out of network” reimbursement.

You will need to pay at the time of service. Payment options include:

·      Credit or debit card

·      Financing through CareCredit

·      Health Savings Account (HSA)

·      Flexible Spending Account (FSA)
